SMS credits, bulk SMS and your AfeySync subscription

Top up SMS credits, send bulk SMS to patients and manage your plan, quotations, invoices and payments.

Check the balance
Go to “SMS wallet” to see your credit balance and history (welcome gift, top-ups and messages sent). One credit sends one SMS of up to 160 characters.

Top up
Click “Top up”, choose the amount and pay with M-Pesa. Credits are added when the payment is confirmed.

Send health reminders and notices, such as a screening day, immunisation reminders or changed clinic hours.

Write the message
Go to “Bulk SMS”. Give the campaign a name, pick a template or type your message. Type {firstName} to greet each patient by name; your facility name is added at the start.

Choose who gets it
Filter patients by branch, sex, age, when they visited, how they paid and their scheme, or paste a list of phone numbers.

Check recipients & cost
Click “Check recipients & cost” to see how many people will get it, who is left out (patients who declined SMS, no valid phone, duplicates), the credits needed and a preview.

Send or schedule
Click “Send now”, or set “Send at” and “Schedule”. Follow delivery under “Sent campaigns”; “Stop unsent messages” cancels anything not yet sent.

Good to know

Patients who said no to SMS at registration are always left out, even if you type their number.
A campaign is refused if the SMS wallet cannot pay for it.

Your plan
Go to “Subscription” to see your plan, its status (for example Free trial or Active) and what is included.

Quotations and agreements
Use “Get quotation” for a quote, and “Review & accept” to accept an agreement. “Download PDF” keeps a copy.

Pay
Open an invoice and click “Pay with M-Pesa”. Enter the M-Pesa phone number and approve the prompt on the phone.
