Maternity: ANC, labour, delivery and birth notification
Antenatal care, the labour record and partograph, delivery, the newborn and printing the birth notification.

1Antenatal care

Register the pregnancy
Go to “Maternity” → “Register pregnancy (ANC)”. Enter LMP (the EDD is worked out), gravida, para, blood group, HIV status and known risk factors.

ANC contacts
At each visit click “Record ANC contact” and set the next visit date.
2Labour

Start the labour record
Click “Start labour record” when the mother is admitted in labour.

Partograph
Use “Add partograph entry” to record progress, maternal and fetal observations over time.
3Delivery and the newborn

Record delivery
Click “Record delivery”: time delivered, mode (SVD, Caesarean section, Vacuum, Forceps, Breech), attendant, placenta, perineum and blood loss.

The baby
Record the newborn: sex, weight, outcome (Live birth, Fresh or Macerated stillbirth). For twins or more use “Add baby (multiple birth)”.

Register the baby
Use “Register” on the newborn record to create the baby’s own patient record.
4Birth notification

Open Birth notifications
Go to the “Birth notifications” tab and open the baby.

Check the details
Confirm the child’s names, the mother’s and father’s names and ID numbers, and who the notification is issued to. Enter the official Form B1 serial number if you use one.

Print
Click “Print”. Two copies print on one A4 portrait page: one for the parent and one for the facility.

Corrections
Use “Correct” and give the reason. The correction is recorded; the original is not silently changed.
