Prescribing medicines
Prescribe from the pharmacy’s own stock with pick-lists for dose, frequency, route and duration.

1Add a medicine

Search the drug
Click “Add drug from formulary (shows stock)” and type the name. You see what is in the pharmacy, with strength, form and stock.

Dose
Enter the dose amount and choose the dose unit (mg, ml, tablets and so on).

Frequency
Choose from the list: Once daily, Twice daily, Three times daily, Four times daily, Every 8/6/4 hours, At night, When required, Once immediately and more.

Route
Choose the route: Oral, Intravenous, Intramuscular, Subcutaneous, Topical, Inhaled, Rectal, Eye, Ear and others.

Duration and quantity
Choose for how many days. The quantity is suggested from dose × frequency × days; you can change it. Everything is checked again on the server.

Instructions and urgency
Add instructions (for example “after food”). On the ward, mark medicines needed immediately as STAT; they are highlighted in the pharmacy.
Good to know
- If the patient has a recorded allergy to the medicine you see an ALLERGY ALERT. You can only continue by giving a reason, which is recorded.
- Where your facility is connected, “Send ePrescription” sends the prescription through the national system.
